Jewelry making

November 21, 2006

Okay Okay now here’s the latest. I have been learning a few jewelry making techniques. I have made some earrings and necklaces using wire wrapping and crimping. I have actually soldered something!! I soldered 2 jump rings closed.

I just need a vast amount more of experience and knowledge to satisfy myself. So, I sent away to www.urbanmaille.com for a kit of a tutorial and all the correctly proportioned jump rings (inner diameter to wire diameter, called aspect ratio). I am also learning a lot by reading from www.spiderchain.com, the forum at http://urbanfool.us/forum/, and Derakon’s library.

If you start reading about these chain projects, set an alarm or a timer to prevent yourself from reading all night!
